A high-conviction, secure investment approach.

The Cranport Resources Fund is a specialist strategy focused on small–mid cap ASX-listed resources companies. Launched in July 2025, the fund provides investors with access to a high-conviction segment of the market that remains under-researched and often mispriced.

Since its inception, the fund has delivered strong performance, supported by Cranport’s depth of experience and disciplined investment philosophy. The investment team is highly aligned with investors, with significant personal capital invested alongside the Fund.

Why Now?

A new cycle has begun

Cranport are bullish on the outlook for resources, and in particular small-cap resources.

Positive macro tailwinds for commodities are now in place:

  • New mine developments are becoming more difficult, with challenges such as permitting and funding resulting in lack of new builds (or at a minimum significant delays to timelines).

  • We are seeing few new genuine world-class discoveries and for existing operations we have seen cost pressures. This all results in supply challenges.

  • Demand however is expected to be strong with the world decarbonisation and AI themes only gathering more pace.

  • Heightened uncertainty, geopolitical volatility, inflation fears and substantial government debts are also strong tailwinds for precious metals such as gold.

  • Key commodities of focus gold, copper, rare earths and lithium.

Investment Process

Cranport’s investment approach combines top-down macro insight with bottom-up stock selection, focused on identifying opportunities ahead of broader market recognition.

The strategy prioritises commercially proven assets, strong management teams and clearly defined catalysts for re-rating. Capital is deployed selectively, with a focus on conviction, liquidity and disciplined risk management.

Portfolio Construction

The portfolio is typically comprised of 20–30 high-conviction positions across predominantly small–mid cap ASX-listed resources companies.

The strategy is benchmark-unaware, allowing for meaningful position sizing and flexibility across the cycle. Investments are focused on commercially proven assets that remain under-recognised by the broader market, with the potential for significant re-rating.

A strong emphasis is placed on liquidity, position limits and capital preservation, with the ability to increase cash exposure during periods of heightened risk.
